It's too bad the comments section on our favorite noir film is closed.
I was going to suggest my favorite, Oral Surgery With Oscar Levant. Directed by Tim Carey, this delightful twist on the hygiene theme, so underlooked in the early Mr. Moto series, is a fresh breath of air scented by Oscar's coffee and cigarette diet. Carey, forgoing his usual understated approach, has created entirely new noir moments, especially with his midnight group flossing scene, whereby all the suspects are sharing the same string of floss at the dinner table. The host then holds both ends of the string at his seat, and gently tugs back and forth while the guests maintain their maniacal grinning. Oscar then tops this scene by pretending to floss between his Steinway keys. No Venetians were blinded in the making of this film.
